TransPerfect Acquires Technicolor Games Amid Parent Firm’s Collapse
U.S.-based AI and language services firm TransPerfect has acquired Technicolor Games, the gaming unit of Technicolor Group, for an undisclosed amount, according to Moneycontrol. The deal follows Technicolor Group’s financial crisis, which led to the closure of operations in the U.S., U.K., and India, impacting over 10,000 employees, including 2,000 in India.
Technicolor Games, with over 400 creative artists across Bengaluru, London, San Francisco, and Montreal, has worked on major titles such as EA Sports FC 25, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Hogwarts Legacy, and Street Fighter 6. The studio has collaborated with gaming heavyweights, including Electronic Arts, Capcom, and 2K.
TransPerfect said it will reinstate Technicolor Games' India employees at its Bengaluru office to ensure business continuity.
